Hi, I’m Atlas, the maker behind Atlas Print Studio.

From fast-paced screens to slow, hands-on making

Atlas Print Studio began with a small set of linocut materials I bought during a trip to Brussels with my boyfriend.

I studied graphic design and, during university, had the chance to try a few traditional printmaking techniques. But after graduating, financial worries led me towards digital design. I spent eight years working mainly in the tech world as a digital product designer, creative work in its own way, but fast-paced and always asking you to do more, do it better, and do it quicker. Somewhere along the way, I stopped making things just for the joy of it.

Then I picked up linocut again. What began as a simple hobby quickly became a big part of my everyday life. Carving, inking, printing, waiting, trying again. This slow process taught me that imperfect does not mean wrong. It gave me space to be patient, to make mistakes, and to enjoy the surprise of not knowing exactly how a print will look until the final reveal. Honestly, it has felt a little like therapy. My home-office slowly turned into a tiny printmaking studio. Now there is more ink and paper than desk space, and each stage has its own little corner: carving, printing, and the most challenging part - finding enough room for prints to dry.

I make prints inspired by the small things that make life feel joyful: a comforting bowl of ramen, a bunch of peonies from the flower shop, a favourite fruit, the first blackbird of spring, or the charming details of Dutch architecture. I hope they encourage you to pause, notice what is already around you, and appreciate the everyday rituals that make a home feel like yours.

Every piece is designed, hand-carved, and printed by me in small batches. Linocut is beautifully unpredictable: a carved line, a tiny slip, a shift in ink, or the natural ageing of a block can make each edition slightly different. That is part of what I love most. These are not mass-produced prints; they are made slowly, one at a time, with their own character.

Atlas is also a very personal name. It became part of my name officially while studying graphic design, when I needed a website name that was a little more unique than my very common first and last name. What started as a practical choice became a name I truly grew into and, luckily, it made naming my studio easy.

Behind the scenes, I am also lucky to have a small support team: my boyfriend, who gives the very important “wow” approval before something is photographed and shared, and my sister, who has encouraged me to begin new things since we were children.
